Meet Natalie Lopez-Barnard, Former Army Captain-Turned Therapist!

Introducing Natalie Lopez-Barnard, otherwise known as Tinkerbell (to Naomia, at least). This little whisp of a woman may look thin and gentle, but she's strong as an ox, and brilliant with the workings of the human brain. Natalie works in our Murray office, and I'm so pleased to tell you more about her!

Natalie Lopez-Barnard served five years of active duty in the United States Army, honorably discharging at the rank of Captain to pursue a career in counseling. Her experience in the Army as a rear detachment commander, trained her in managing deployed families and using skills she learned through the Master Resiliency Training program, designed to prevent domestic violence, anxiety, suicide, substance abuse, and other conditions afflicting soldiers (as well as first responders and others). She earned her undergrad degree at Barnard College of Columbia University and her Masters in Counseling at Northwestern University. Before coming to Freedom Counseling, she worked as an offsite therapist for an intensive outpatient clinic in Frederick, MD.
